Let the lawmakers know you support a tobacco-free Indiana. Here's a link to current state officials: http://www.in.gov/apps/sos/legislator/search/.
- Choose the elected office (You can look up the Indiana House and Senate as wells as the U.S. House and Senate)
- Type in your zip code (If you are in a large city like South Bend or Indianapolis, you may have to look closely for your street and see which disctrict you fall under)
- The bold blue numbers near the gray zip codes are the numbers for the legislators.
- Look on the right hand side of the page for the list of legislators.
For example, you type in your zip code 46628 and you choose the Indiana House. You look for the blue bold number nearest to my gray zip code and that is my legislator. On the right side of the page is the listing of legislators in the zip code you typed in. For the example above, the House Representative is B. Patrick Bauer.
You can also click on the name of your legislator and see what political party they are, the bills (or legislation) he or she has authored or co-authored. (If you click on the specific bill, you can read the entire bill) You can also email them through this section by clicking on "email" OR click again on their name and it will direct you to their personal website. This is where you can find theri mailing address, email (again) and other items.
